Bounding differences in Jager Pairs

چکیده
Symmetrical subdivisions in the space of Jager Pairs for continued fractions-like expansions will provide us with bounds on their difference. Results will also apply to the classical regular and backwards continued fractions expansions, which are realized as special cases.

The Distribution of Jager Pairs for Continued Fraction like Mappings of the Interval
Certain ergodic, piecewise Möbius self-mappings of the unit interval, similar to the classical Gauss or Rényi maps, give rise to natural sequences of convergents pn/qn for every associated “irrational” number x. Here we study the metric theory of the approximation sequences θn = |qn||qnx − pn|. Following Jager we describe the distribution of pairs (θn, θn+1) in a plane domain by deriving their ...
متن کاملA Quad Bounding Box Tree Based Self-collision Detection Method for Fabric Simulation
Aim to prove the self-collision detection efficiency for fabric simulation, this paper presents a quad bounding box tree based self-collision detection method. Firstly, we construct a quad bounding box tree for fabric according to the spatial location of its primitives. Then we divide the detection process into two stages. During the first rough detection stage, with normal cone method and dete...

متن کاملAutomatic Bounding Estimation in Modified Nlms Algorithm
Modified Normalized Least Mean Square (MNLMS) algorithm, which is a sign form of NLMS based on set-membership (SM) theory in the class of optimal bounding ellipsoid (OBE) algorithms, requires a priori knowledge of error bounds that is unknown in most applications. In a special but popular case of measurement noise, a simple algorithm has been proposed. With some simulation examples the performa...
متن کاملOn Passive Quadrupedal Bounding with Flexible Linear Torso
This paper studies the effect of flexible linear torso on the dynamics of passive quadruped bounding. A reduced-order passive and conservative model with linear flexible torso and springy legs is introduced. The model features extensive spine deformation during high-speed bounding, resembling those observed in a cheetah. Fixed points corresponding to cyclic bounding motions are found and calcul...
